5 Hacks to Get You Summer Ready!

We did it tribe! ☀️

We’ve officially made it to another summer season!

Put the snuggies, fuzzy socks, and romcoms on pause, it’s time to step out of hibernation!

I love every season, but summer…I mean c'mon?!

Sunshine on my skin, concert opportunities every weekend, thriving farmers markets, new places to go, positive people to meet, andddd little to no clothes!

First of all, I’d like to say that confidence is a vibeeee, it’s a feeling, it’s an energy, it’s NOT a size! You can and should feel confident at any size! (sidenote: I actually think we feel most confident when we’re living life in alignment with our highest self but that’s a topic for another day).

TODAY we’re talking about 5 of my favorite hacks I use to help me get summer ready. And guess what?! You can start these immediately!

💦 Stay Hydrated

Did you know that over 50% of the time when we feel hungry, we’re actually thirsty?! That’s right! Avoid overeating AND have more youthful skin, more nourished hair, more lubricated organs and joints, and more energy by drinking enough water!

I make sure I’m always carrying a glass water bottle with me, I always drink water with lemon and salt first thing upon rising, and I love making hormone-supporting tea elixirs!

🥑 Eat Your Food in the Right Order

I know you guys have heard me talk a lot about this lately, but the science behind the order we eat our food and the impact on glucose is just fascinating! When you can prioritize eating; fiber, followed by protein and fats, and finish off with carbohydrates you can reduce your glucose spike by up to 30%! Incredible! Constant glucose spikes attribute to weight gain, cognitive decline, autoimmune dysfunction, cellular aging, heightened cravings, and energy crashes.

🍠 Prioritize Nature-Made Carbs

Spaghetti Squash >> Pasta Sweet Potato >> French Fries Cauliflower Rice >> Rice

It’s such an easy (and in my opinion more delicious) swap to trade out at least some of your highly processed carbohydrates for those that look more similar to how they looked when they were found in nature.

115 grams of Spaghetti Squash has 11 grams of carbohydrates

115 grams of pasta has 44 grams of carbohydrates.

Same volume of food, a much different impact on your physique!

👩🏼‍🌾 Shop Local, Shop Regenerative, Shop Organic

Did you know people who eat organic on average eat 30% fewer calories because organic produce has a more nutritionally dense profile? This results in more satiated, more nourished consumers! Did you also know that in 2020 6.9 billion pounds of pesticides were sprayed in only 10 countries?!!!! If the man spraying them has to wear a hazard suit, what do you think happens to the human body if it ingests them regularly??

☕️ Turn Your Coffee Dates Into - “Hot Girl Coffee + Walk Dates”

I say this all the time, but people WIDELY underestimate how much getting your steps in impacts your physique. Did you know that when I competed in my WBFF competition last year the only cardio I was doing was walking outside?! That’s right, no crazy HIIT workouts, no hour-long stair stepping just getting my steps in in the sunshine! Get consistent with your steps and watch that body fat percentage start to plummet. Not to mention, when you do it with your friends I promise the conversation will flow even better!

Here’s to starting summer off right! Healthy is always in season <3

Xoxo
